Terrible customer service!

I have a complaint and have asked for a supervisor to contact me. I called July 10 and it is now July 24.

No call. When I ask-- how long will it take for someone to call me back?- This is the answer I am given: "as soon as possible". When I then ask, what does that mean in business days, they said "it means as soon as possible". This is 100% laughable!

Get it together Acura. Meanwhile I will be contacting the BBB and my local News station because no one from HQ will contact me back.

DOES ANYONE CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER APPRECIATION AT ACURA? APPARENTLY NOT.

Blatant disrespect and mistreatment of female disability-identified American

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Blatant Acura Disdain, and Bias Against Minority Women, Disability-Identified Car Seekers I purchased my ILX from a non-Acura dealership in Fairfax, VA so until recently when I began car shopping did I discover the blatant seemingly sexist, racist, and otherwise non-inclusive and discriminatory attitudes and perspectives that plague many an Acura dealership on the East Coast! I hope my awful and frustrating experiences involving insult, bullying, and dismissiveness do not reflect the feelings and politics of the ACURA ownership and the upper management of Honda/ Acura The Corporation as I am a disability-identified, minority, female-identifying, American veteran family member, widow, and retired educator, and mother of four who has served our country in countless ways at countless costs!

Still, the comments, tactics, tones, and words and statements (written and verbal) that have targeted me suggest otherwise!

I simply sought and am still seeking to purchase a 2022 MDX using the financing afforded me by the United States Governments State Technology Assistance Program which aids eligible disabled individuals who seek greater economic self-sufficiency and greater access to such through the acquisition of valuable assets such as education and mobility.

I won a loan grant of $28K at 3% interest for 72 months. No salesman who so easily profiled then dismissed me or who chose to neglect me instead of serving me respectfully, adequately, fairly and decently suspected that I could purchase a nearly new Acura MDX although the government agent working with me who approved me for the Program most fortunately believed that I could!

I guess Acura assumes a customer unfit upon sight when she looks like me. No one inquired as to whether I had a trade-in. No one even cared to run my credit nor asked to do so!

At several dealerships, salesmen watched me aimlessly roam their parking lots perusing vehicles yet in only one case was a young male newbie salesman sent to assist me for all of 5 minutes! All the practices which are customary practices of salesmen who expect to sell a vehicle to the customer in front of them were sidestepped!

I seek an MDX still! Attached is evidence of my program loan grant. I have texts, footage, eye and ear witnesses, and documents to substantiate my claims of negative bias!

I have 2 purchase orders only sent after my numerous pleas. One was obviously thrown together haphazardly by Acura agents who obviously did not take me seriously as a potential customer. The purchase order bears a very foreign zip code (even though I provided my ID and contact info), two false salespersons names (nowhere on the order does the name of the actual salesman with whom I was working appear), and a total that in no way adds up given the line itemization and figures which appears on the form. Despite my frustration, I continued cooperating, test drove vehicles, provided the email address and other contact info of the government agent working with me and traveled to dealerships, moving to the next Acura showroom each time negative bias, reluctant Acura staff, scoffing, and stonewall profiling prevented the sale from being completed.

The text messages indicate disdain, disrespect and aloofness. The paperwork indicates a lack of integrity and is proof of the pattern of noninclusive thinking that documents Acuras active unwillingness to diversify its ideas concerning new customer acquisition and equality in the marketplace and widening minority access to its products via an attitude of welcoming, valuation, and unbiased service!

I remember sitting in an Acura dealership waiting for help and watching Acura salesman of various nationalities, ages, and races pass right by me without a word, gesture, or look of concern! I was made invisible in their eyes and esteem! ACURA must make amends!

The public must be made aware of the Corporations anti-inclusive mindset and sales practices!

I hope to secure additional footage! CCTV footage can definitely further substantiate my reports as does the awful evidence and documentation already in my possession.

I will use a different Acura dealer.

Original review Feb 19, 2024
We bought a LOVELY new Acura on Jan 16th, 2023. My wife and I are thrilled with the vehicle.
Sadly, the above is all I can say that is positive about Mike Hale Acura.

Jake Wade was our salesperson, and we made the deal at $1000.00 off the window sticker, plus tax license and so forth legal paperwork with every new car.
There is no need to deny this, Jake Wade, four people heard your boss say it. He said he would give us another $1000 off the window sticker. My wife wanted to see another model car, but I stayed at Mike Hale Acura to hold the deal, as I knew this vehicle would be our choice. I asked Jake Wade to get the paperwork going, two or three times, as we had found our car there and I was done shopping.
When we finally got the paperwork going, Jake took me to a small, dark office with a pile of papers.

I was exhausted. It was late, and I didn't have much energy, as I'm old and have a sickness. I recognized most of these papers as I went, but buying a car is as bad as closing on a house for producing signatures. I signed these papers in good faith, and I did not expect what I found the next day when I had enough light and magnification to read the bill of sale carefully.
Jake had clandestinely added $600.00 to the sticker price before subtracting my agreed $1000.00 off, and I missed his cheat and got $400 off from the sticker price.

Jake claimed the net day that this $600.00 was for the "winter protection package," which consisted of $20 buck lug locks and a set of floor mats, I told him I did not want $600.00 floor mats, thank you. No dice. His reasoning? "You signed the Bill of Sale."
Touché Jake, you got me good, like you get every customer who buys a car by your admission, "Everybody gets it." Yeah, "Everybody BUYS it for $600.00" before the sale would be more transparent.

Listen, Mike Hale Acura would list this so-called, "winter protection package," as an accessory if they were not ashamed of what they are doing. That's why they hide the sin in their fine print. No one in their right mind would pay $600.00 for floor mats, and that is $200.00 more than in the Acura build catalog. I sincerely thought a big dealership like Mike Hale Acura would never do anything like this to make a few hundred extra bucks and then trick someone else into thinking you are getting $600.00 more for the vehicles.
Then they boldly told me they force this stuff on every new car sale!
I let my guard down because I trusted my salesperson, Jake Wade.

I thought when we reached an agreement (not Rocket Science) that $53645 less a thousand dollars is $52645, and we sealed it with a handshake on the deal, and that was that. I bought an Acura. You can do it in your head. Does anyone read the entire sale contract?

We better start now huh?
Thanks, Jake Wade, thanks for being your customer's advocate, huh? I'm sure you do not take any thought about running this scam over and over, and hiding it in overpriced add-ons or raising the price without your client's knowledge.

Sold me a precision used 2012 acura mdx with recall on pistons and piston rings

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought a supposedly certified, precision-used 2012 Acura MDX in 2022 with 58,976 miles from Acura in Peabody, MA, and drove it home. I started the engine and heard a clunk.

I've had five Acuras before this one. After driving 1600 miles, the car told me to pull over because there was no oil. I came to find out there was a recall for these parts due to crazy oil consumption. I called them, but they did nothing about it and treated me poorly, giving me the runaround.

So I called the Massachusetts Attorney General. The only thing they said I could do is sue. How are they selling lemons and treating people badly when Acura/Honda is at fault? I called Acura to see if they would 'good will' the repair.

If not, I have a lawyer and need five more people for a class-action lawsuit. We can all band together and make them pay. I've been without a car for four months, playing back and forth. Luckily, I'm very intelligent and have a family, or I'd bring pain that these people couldn't imagine.

Pain is real, especially when you can't see it coming. I think we should all start a federal class-action lawsuit and make these cheaters pay.

It is not a lemon by the legal definition. your state does not have a used lemon law.

Lemon requires a new car with factory warranty and in most states less than 1 or 2 years old.

You bought an as-is car . If it had any warranty you are bond by the term of it.

Seeking Resolution - Rosenthal Acura Service Feedback

I've been a dedicated Rosenthal Acura customer for over two decades, having relied on them for servicing my Acura TSX and RDX. However, I must express my deep concern regarding the current state of their service department.

It's evident that the quality has significantly declined since the onset of the pandemic, potentially due to changes in management and personnel. The esteemed Rosenthal Acura name is all that remains.

Regrettably, the standard of repairs provided is far from satisfactory. Their mechanics seem limited in their ability to diagnose and rectify issues beyond basic service requirements. Comprehensive post-repair checks or test drives on vehicles appear to be omitted.

Additionally, the treatment from personnel leaves much to be desired, and obtaining a loaner car after repeated service failures necessitates escalating the matter to the facility director.

Rather than relying on experienced mechanics, they seem to rely solely on scanner-generated codes for repairs. This approach lacks accountability, and there have been no apologies for their mistakes. My attempts to engage with the Acura regional manager have been met with silence, and interactions are avoided.

Here's the chronicle of my ordeal:

1. **Initial Repair** - July 10-13, 2023 (3 days): Diagnosis and spark plug and coil replacement on the 4th cylinder.

2.

**Post-repair Issues** - July 13-18, 2023: Unforeseen shaking and motor noises.

3. **Second Repair** - July 18-August 12, 2023 (26 days): Extensive timing chain, guides, arm, tensioner, seals replacement, and Fakra cables.

4. **Post-repair Issues** - August 12-14, 2023: Immediate oil pressure light and all service lights warnings, car shakes upon startup, stalls.

5. **Third Repair** - August 13-19, 2023 (8 days): VTC Valve replaced due to DTC P2651 Rocker Arm Oil Control System "B" stuck off/switch circuit high voltage.

6.

**Post-repair Issues** - August 19-26, 2023: Persistent car shaking, electrical issues, battery indicator lit, car cranks but doesn't start while lights are operational. Discovered air intake left detached post previous repair.

7. **Fourth Repair** - August 27-September 2, 2023 (7 days): Resecured the fuel pump ground and installed a new air intake.

8. **Post-repair Issues** - September 2-5, 2023: Intensified shaking, difficulties in shifting gears, all service lights back on, car stalls repeatedly.

9.

**Fifth Repair** - September 5-October 1, 2023 (27 days): Acura requested all non-Acura service receipts, presented $5098 estimate, later reduced to $2371.66, for cylinder head gasket replacement.

My vehicle has spent a total of 71 days in their service since July 10, 2023, with each return in a worse state than before.

A particularly concerning instance was when I realized that my vehicle had been returned to me on August 27, 2023, with the air intake visibly detached. It makes me question what else was not properly attached. My car stalled and had to be towed back to the dealership. Please refer to the attached video.

The latest issue is the $2371.66 estimate for cylinder head gasket replacement.

I firmly believe that this expense must be fully covered under Rosenthal Acura's repair warranty.

I've requested the involvement of the regional Acura manager, urged Acura corporate to send their own mechanic for reevaluation, and demanded full coverage of the cylinder head gasket repair resulting from their errors.

Furthermore, the current condition of my four-year-old Acura RDX 2019 falls far short of the luxury and reliability I anticipated from the Acura brand and Rosenthal Acura's service.

Regrettably, I can no longer endorse the Acura brand to those seeking dependable luxury cars and service.

In conclusion, I implore you to reconsider subjecting yourself to the frustration and disappointment I've endured with Rosenthal Acura's service. Superior, more professional, and cost-effective alternatives are available elsewhere.

2019 sunfoof leaking

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I own a 2019 Acura RDX and bought it brand new. Just last year, 2023, I experienced a water sound in my roof.

I discovered my sunroof was leaking, and the water filled my trunk area. I took it to the dealership, Smails Acura, where I bought it and they said the sunroof glass needed to be repositioned. Just the other day, in May 2024, I heard the water in my roof again. It's leaking again.

Now I am being told I need a new sunroof frame, which costs $3000.00 to replace. How do you need a new sunroof frame? The car only has 29,000 miles and is kept in a heated garage. This must be a defect!!!

Has anyone else had this problem? I contacted Honda Acura and they said they would look into it.

How can this be? I never heard of anyone needing a sunroof frame replaced.

Horrible Service

Last year around this time I left an amazing review for Acura after purchasing my first car from them. Well I am here to take that back and to tell you DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE.

The staff is lazy, inconsistent, lack customer service, and the service departments bills for things they don't really do. I have been complaining about vibrating and squeaking from my brakes for the past 6 months, my car isn't even a year old. Every time I call or make an appointment about it they tell me everything is fine and that the brakes need to warmed up. Never in my life have I heard of a brakes making that much noise on a new car or them needing to warm up.

This is a 2024 RDX A-pec! I finally went back in and demanded that they check it again, this is now my 5th time asking this, they then keep my car for the longest they have ever kept it and then let me know that the rotors are infact BAD but warranty won't cover it because my brake caliber has been painted!!! The service manager JORDAN took zerooooo accountability for the BS his staff has been putting me through and offered me absolutely nothing for my time or their mistake. Now I'm supposed to pay $800+ to get something fixed that I've been complaining to them about for 6 months.

It's clear to me the service department never checked to begin with and were clocking hours to get paid for work they NEVER DID. Am I supposed to feel safe bringing my car back to this service department. I wish I could just get rid of the whole damn car. I will never be back.

This is NOT a reliable car for families or women!!

Do not buy from here or these people.

When I told Jordan I wasn't happy with his responses and the service he was provided his response was if I would like the number to corporate??!! Really, if this is who is running your service department it would explain why the techs are back there *** and padding invoices making it look like their really working

Poor service at Ralleye

I have a new Integra (500 miles). Two features do not seem to be working correctly.

I cannot get an appointment for three weeks and then I have to either drop off the car (and have no transportation home) or get a loaner. My garage spot at home is small, which is why I cannot get a larger car such as the TLX or SUV. They cannot guarantee the type of loaner.

Also, I never received the card for roadside service.

I decided to call Paragon Acura instead, and they were very happy to give me an appointment next week.

If need be they would drive me home and pick me up if the car were not ready within a couple of hours. What a difference.

Please don't purchase an ACURA TLX Type S

We purchased a 2023 Acura TLX type S in March of 2023! We rarely drive the car but it snowed a bit and my husband decided to take it to his shop to clean it.

he put it on the lift to clean the undercarriage and noticed an oil leak. We took it to the dealership mulitple times and have yet to have the issue repaired. I contacted Acura to file a complaint, at first my rep was very helpful but now she won't return my calls.

I am very disappointed in this car, not even 7,500 miles and a leak. I would love to share additional information with other TLX owners, you can contact me at acuratlxowner@***.com

GPS Update via Acura CDs ruined the GPS and Hard Drive

On 10/27/23, I tried to update the GPS on our 2017 RDX. After loading all 4 CDs, the GPS failed to reset.

I called Acura, who told me they couldn't resolve and indicated I should take to a dealership. On 11/3, we visited the dealership in Wilmington, NC. They replaced the GPS, at our expense, over $1000! Then they decided the Hard Drive needed replacement.

It's been on back order since! Despite multiple personal visits and e-mails, nothing has changed. The last e-mail of 3/4 promised an update - nothing received.

I'm convinced the CDs caused the damage - the RDX has been without a functioning GPS, back-up camera, fully functional music sys and hands-free phone since! We're simply being ignored now - help pls!
